Its a very nice capture! Panning works for sure cause your main subject is quite sharp while everything else is blurred. I would suggest bigger aperture and faster shutter speed maybe 1/300 or even 1/500 in order to have your main subject completely sharp besides the wheels which will give the motion effect. I would also try to keep the horse and the driver in the middle but thats just my opinion.

many thanks. I'll give it a faster shutter speed next time I am at the races. About the your suggestion to put them more in the middle: I thought it was nicer to give them some space to trot into. But then again, that is matter of opinion. Thanks again, /p |
