Default sunset snowboarding

Any critique is welcome and encouraged. I had two wireless flash units. One is set up pointing down the railing camera left, the other is pointing from the ground up at the rider's back. Both are at 1/1 power.

This is a good shot and I really like the sunset in the background, but here is what I would do to make it better.
  1. Get the face in the shot! The photo loses so much emotion and feeling when the face isn't visible
  1. The lower left corner where the flash units were set up feels a little to bright for me and I almost feel like the corner of the brightly exposed deck detracts from the snowboarder.
  1. Try taking this shot again with the rider facing you and use a longer focal length for a tighter shot, or shoot really wide from a lower or higher angle. Try Anything!

Overall I think this is a good shot that could be made better. Hope you find this helpful!

It's a great sunset. How about turning the flash off, getting lower, and getting a silhouette of the snowboarder against those awesome colors?
