Default 1st & Surprisingly 2nd High School Basketball Games

You can read the summary below or just go straight to the photographs!

I'm doing a photography internship for a local newspaper and already done two assignments for them. Now it was time to photograph my first basketball game! I was nervous/excited because I'm a huge basketball fan! I went into my internship to get my press pass and when I got there one of the workers asked if I was shooting two basketball games. I said no, I was only assigned one, but then he told the manager and I that the person who was suppose to photograph the 2nd high school thought I was gonna photograph it. This is when I was asked if I could photograph two high school games in one night and I only had less than two hours to get everything done because they needed to print the paper ASAP.

Yup, when I shot the action, almost all of my photographs came out a bit blurry. Whether if it was the players that got blurred or the ball, they were blurry.

My settings
1/80 shutter speed
4.5 f-stop
3200 ISO

1 lower your f-stop from 4.5 to the lowest setting. That 80th of a second isn't going to work for any sports you shoot except for maybe a chess game.
2 get a faster lens, one that gives you f1.4, f1.8 or f1.2 or even f2.8.
