Default shot sequence

I tried this new style of putting a sequence of shots together. Do people think it works well? Does it add to having just one shot?

combined by photocist, on Flickr

Camera: D3000
Aperture: F/6
Shutter Speed: 1/250s
ISO Sensitivity: ISO 200
WB: Sunlight

Thanks for looking!

I can't say that displaying this sequence does anything for me. I prefer the third shot.

I would have liked this as a triptych, the first image doesn't really add anything because the subject hasn't fully entered the frame. otherwise its a good concept

I didn't do it -- it's a technique I've seen used for actions shots like this, though, and this seemed like a good candidate for this sort of thing, since the first three shots, at least, seem to hold the background steady while the subject moves.

I agree that the first shot of the sequence doesn't add much and can probably be left out. That layering technique is definitely great for skate shots like this... I've attempted this effect with some of the surf photography that I do but it is very difficult since the wave is changing over time and thus the background is not constant. Next time experiment with a tripod tho, I bet you can piece together some impressive images that way.
