Default 10/10/10 Browns Game

I took this shot from about 25 rows off the field. I used my olympus e500 eith a 70-200 2.8-3.4 lens. The exposure was 1/1250s the ISO was 100 at f4.0 200mm. I would like an overall critique of the shot, and any post production advice.

You should have shot ISO 400, that would have given you a higher shutter speed. And it's taken from the back side. But, then again I can see you're were trying to get the best picture in the location you were stuck in. Looks like of underexposed as well.

Maybe give people more than 12 hours to critique? Some people like to look at things before flying off with quick comments and have more to add later. JMHO

Get the ball in the frame. But, these are some pretty nice portraits of the players. Whoop......thought I was responding to your other thread of the before the game pass.

Nice shot BTW!

I agree with Jim, it is way to dark. You lost the dramatic effect of the ball on his fingertips with it being so dark and hard to see.

But what do I know I'm just an amateur.

It sucks to be limited to one position and have no control over what is in the way. (the first down marker as an example)
However, I love the action in the shot. Outstretched arm grabbing the football. Good timing there. I have a few Packers photos from a game last year on my flickr and I was around the same distance from the field as you were so I know the difficulties getting good action shots.
I'd agree with the underexposure but nothing that you shouldn't be able to correct in PP.

I'd love to see what else you got from the game. Peyton Hillis is just a stud. You guys got a real baller there.

BTW: Don't get frustrated when you get views but no responses. Lots of lurkers on these boards that don't sign up. You can't post without a membership.

I get it......sometimes Im just a big baby. I printed this shot and it came out beautiful....on here it does look dark. I printed it 16x24 and took it for an autograph. He signed it Peyton "the beast" Hillis....and asked me for a copy.

I love the picture....nice capture....might look more awesome if you cropped closer to just show the player making the catch....just my uneducated....untrained opinion...thanks for sharing

I think it's the flash software or whatever it is that is integrated into this website that makes pictures look dark or sometimes broken pixels in the photo or whatever. Never cared for it myself.

Just sign up for a flickr account and hotlink the picture to DPS. Much better IMO. Post some of them game shots on flickr or another photo hosting website and send a link!
