Default Baseball Focus Point OK?

Here's a shot I took today at my son's Tee Ball game. Should I have tried to focus on the ball or is the way it is acceptable? I would appreciate any comments, my skin is pretty thick so honesty is encouraged.

Here's some info:

Pentax K-x w/ Sigma 28-200 DL Hyperzoom
f/8
1/1000
ISO-200
focal length 135mm

Thanks in advance,

Keith

You've got the ball in the shot which is good. The kid's in focus, and I think that's really your primary subject, so that's good. There's a lot of extraneous stuff going on in this shot. Perhaps a vertical crop on the center with the thrower, catcher, and the ball might be stronger. Example below (will remove upon request).

On a side note, the watermark is a bit intrusive and detracts from the image, IMHO.

It's taken back side of a kid in a jersey. The third baseball and ball are both out of focus. I really tried to find a logical focal point of the subject, but this as it is, doesn't say anything.
