Even though I'm all for breaking the rules, I think in this case it would emphasize the direction of their movement if there was more space on the left than on the right. So the rule of thirds. Now it feels a little tight when they're right at the center.

Now that you've mentioned it. I agree with you But unfortunately due to the limitation of the actual photo, I don't actually have much space to create a better sense of movement

Thanks for your comments tho!

I think the composition is okay, what Milla said is true but not much you can do about it now. The only thing I see that maybe you could do is to get that adjustment brush out and add a bit of light to the second swimmers face, it looks a little dark to me. Also, maybe a little straighter at the top there is a small gap on the right side, but not on the left. Good pic though.

How should I lighten up the swimmers face? How should I do it in . . photoshop or lightroom?

If you have lightroom 2 or above, it's really easy. Select the adjustment brush in the develop module. On the sliders below, add just a little bit over + exposure, and simply paint over the face. You can try auto-masking, but it probably won't work great on the face. You can press "O" to show a quick-mask like red highlight over the sport you are painting. After you select the face with the brush, you can still adjust the sliders to get just the right about of compensation.

Here is a good video about local adjustments in lightroom.

Here is the updated version
Do you think it's better with the higher exposure on the swimmers face?

Thanks!
