It looks like you did a good job freezing the motion and capturing detail. The framing gives the rider some open space to ride into which is good. It seems like Photoshop clobbered your EXIF data, so without looking back at the original images (if possible) it's hard to say what people could offer as suggestions for changing things.

If you get another chance, you might want to try a panning shot sometime where you lengthen the exposure time and get a blurring of the background. At race speed, it doesn't take a terribly long exposure to get some background blur which should make keeping the rider in focus easier. Below is an example. I was able to shoot this with a P&S.

Ryan Sissons at the 2010 Hy-Vee Triathlon

Camera Samsung VLUU L200 / Samsung L200
Exposure 0.011 sec (1/90)
Aperture f/9.1
Focal Length 10.1 mm
ISO Speed 100
Focal Length In35mm Format 59 mm

Also, if you slow your shutter down just a little, you will get spoke blur which conveys motion a lot more than the "frozen" look you've got going there.

Hey, nice job! Nice subject placement and effective freezing of the cyclist against a soft background. Great shot!
