Default My first go at Motorsport Panning

Hi Guys,

Today I went to my local racetrack to try out panning with my new Tamron 70-300mm lens on my D60.

I must have taken around 300 shots but this one is my absolute favourite with some minor edits in iphoto and some cropping to focus on the car. I do love the Nissan GTR.

Details:

Nikon D60
Tamron 70-300mm lens
Shutter Speed - 1/60
Aperture - F8.0
Focol Length - 70mm
ISO - 100
Exposure bias - +2.0

What do you guys think please ?

Cheers,
Gareth

If this is an uphill climb, then cool, otherwise I'd rotate to fix the horizon. Also, since you mentioned a crop, you might want to try it with the car pushed a bit more towards one edge or the other, probably to the left. Give the car somewhere to go, and use the void to push attention towards the car.

You've done well to keep the car sharp, so congrats there.

Thanks for the feedback mate.

I have made some adjustments now, unfortunately I shot it with it towards the right as there was a fence just after the shot.

This is more of the whole pic:

Any better ?
