Default Splashing Drop

Hi, I have used Canon SX10IS on Manual focus mode, without tripod.
Let me know how i could have it improved.

The large flash reflection (I presume) is really distracting I would try to bounce the flash from the side or at a different angle to avoid that if at all possible.

Here are the EXIF info
f/4.0
1/125s
ISO 80
Focal Length: 14.6mm

I would like to know, if i should have tried using a smaller aperture or could have changed the ISO or shutter speed.
