I "panned" alot of cars that day. I liked this photo the best, but it don't have the background blur that most of them did. What do you think? Trying to learn!

Ahem..... I know someone has to have an opinion. Believe me, I don't wear my feelings on my sleeve when I want to learn. Let me know if you like it and/or what you would change. I want to learn. Just let me know.

Ummm besides the camera, I already did that. LOL.

Hey jpel3500, I'm new on here so not much expertise in critique but you put it up there and for that you definitely deserve to hear something. First I like the photo. Also I've shot moving objects before so I am aware of the challenge. Focus looks to be good, (judging from the lettering on the side). At first I thought I saw a little blur but when I went to picasa to see the full image I could see it more clearly. Maybe a little too much ground below and to the right of the car that a little cropping would correct. As far as the background blur goes I think it is a personal preference. For me on action shots if the subject is sharp and the background is soft or even blurred a bit it gives the illusion of movement, but in a good way. With the shutter speed lengthened to 1/400 or maybe even 1/250 you could get that effect and probably still keep a clear main subject. I would be interested to hear critique from a more experienced person.

Thank you..... didn't even think of cropping. I've taken alot of pics, and never cropped a one till I started reading on these forums! LOL.... But I am starting to learn how to and when to. I so want to get an SLR now. hehehe. Just because I see all the cool things that can be done with them. My imagination on the otherhand, needs help. LOL. Until then, I'll learn what I can with my Kodak. It does great, and I am trying to use all of the manual settings that I can. A Fuji P&S POS (lol) took the shot posted. It gave me a full array of colors of dirt, all on the same setting. Got rid of that, and bought another Kodak.

Thanks Again!
