A little dark - maybe dodge up the car a bit to make it pop. The photoshop'ing to improve the motion blur is a little too obvious... Looks doctored - that's never good (unless you are going for that I guess).

Nice shot. Hove to agree about the photoshopping. To the casual observer, they may not notice it but for someone into motorsports or photography, the will notice that the blur on the background does not match the blur in the wheel. The wheel does not appear to be spinning fast enough for the speed that is suggested by the blur of the tire wall and grass behind the car.
What I would suggest is experimenting with capturing the blur in the camera by slowing down your shutters speed to 1/125, 1/100 or even 1/80 depending on how fast the cars are moving. You will have to practice on matching your pan with the car, but you will get much better results than resorting to photoshop. I do not agree that you have to have the entire car in the shot. The shot is a tiny bit dark, I would play around with it to find the sweet spot where the shadows reveal some detail. But otherwise a good shot. King Motorsport Photogrpahy -- John H. King |
