At least the fence helps me hold the camera more still! And I think I can fix the horizon if I re-crop. Thanks for the help!

Looks great except for the horizon. Nice, uncluttered (out of focus) background and you got the ball in the shot. Very nice.
Try to crop in pp rather than in camera for sports photography. Makes it easier to get the shot but also gives you enough room for prints should you decide to print any. Ask me how I know...

I cropped in Iphoto rather than PS as usual--as I just wanted something for posting and haven't done PP-- but good to know about not cropping in-camera. Of course, now you have me asking why...sounds like a good story behind that!

I like the crop and the timing is nice. you can't even tell you're shooting through the fence. I think you can see the kids expression which is important but not the only element in the picture. I think a tighter crop would take more away than add to the capture. TFS

Great shot! Just recrop to level out the horizontal fence line! Good focus and freezing of action! Been there with those 5x7s and 8x10s myself!!!

Good to know...I've never cropped in camera and won't start now!

Really nice shot. Been there with that 5x7 and 8x10 thing also. As a matter of fact going through it right now with parents that can't decide between 8x10 or 8x12. Oh well.
