Default football in the park

Here is a shot of my son playing football in the park, I want to try and get a little more action into the shot any suggestions or comments?

football-1

EXIF
f2.8
1/2000
ISO100
-1/3 ev

I am most disappointed in the background (Car) but I am not very experienced in PP to get rid of it.

I like the action! There is a bit of tension created by both his feet being off the ground and that makes it for me. The only thing I think would bring more action is an opponent next to him trying to tackle (is that the proper term?). I like the lower vantage point too, makes him look like a big superstar :-)

I agree on the background and the car. It's hard to avoid sometimes, especially with sports. Do you notice those distractions in the viewfinder while you are shooting or after you get home?

You captured very good action here. Actual interaction with another player could provide for good action also but you just need to be ready to shoot when it is actually happening.

I wouldn't worry too much about the background on this shot unless you want to use it as practice for processing it out. The best way would be to avoid it by shooting in another direction if possible but with sports, you really don't have control over the location it is being played.

I like the capture except for the background. A few steps to your right would have gotten the car out of the background and made it much better. But, it certainly is action enough without another player in the photo. Great job.

Very true, but as the kid was also moving, probably no time to get in that position and other shots at different angles would have the car instead of this one.

You're a very cruel person making your son play in a Liverpool kit!

Seriously though, great shot. It has plenty of action in my opinion, you can almost feel how much he wants strike the ball Stevie G style. I love the angle you got it from as well, it seems to add something extra, it's certainly something I am going to try.

Thanks for the comments guys

Could have done with my son playing last night

I did notice the car in the viewfinder, but could not adjust to get this shot. Will try to get some further action shots next time he plays, to get a tackling shot, or another person at least in the shot. as you say it will add that extra dimension.

Thanks again guys

I really liked the low angle (taken from laying on stomach) that you used. Great shot.
