I would like suggestions on how to best crop/frame this image. I am a definite rookie and this and his is my 1st attempt at sports shots with my first dslr. Any other ideas for improvement would also be appreciated.

Welcome to DPS! This section of the sight doesn't get as much traffic as some of the other sections, so it can take some time to get a response.

For me, a crop just to the right of #11's arm makes sense. That would turn it into more of a portrait crop, which suits my eye for this photo. And since there's no way to crop it so that some players aren't partially in the frame, I wouldn't worry about doing so with a crop.

Indoor sports is hard, and you're off to a good start.

I have a D90 - don't be afraid to use a high ISO (up to at least 3200) to get a faster shutter, if needed to stop the action. As long as the shot isn't underexposed, any noise should be minor.

My 2 cents.

One possible crop.
