Default NAIA Softball

Caught this one Friday afternoon. Looking for any C&C for next time out. Main thing I see is that if I'd been lower, I may have gotten more of her eyes.

Model: Canon EOS 50D
ISO: 400
Exposure: 1/4000 sec
Aperture: 4.0
Focal Length: 280mm

I agree, you'll be able to capture more of her eyes if you lowered down a bit. But for me, it's not a biggie. I like your timing here.

Cheers!

Excellent! You got both of her feet in there, you got some incredible timing with the bat and the ball...As far as the eyes, it's her fault, she should have looked up.

Thanks, Eric. I try to watch for the back shoulder to start to drop and snap then. Usually does a good job of getting the ball in the frame, though in this case it was on the bat.

Thanks. I'll be sure to let her know to look up instead of watching the ball next time!

Perfect timing, that should not be easy at all..

The only thing I notice is that the background is quite distracting (the car, that is...). If possible, consider a different angle for your captures.

Well done anyway...

Thanks. Backgrounds are tough with limited equipment. I would have loved a 300 f/2.8 to blur it more than I was able to.

Thanks. I read it somewhere else and it works. Thought I'd pass it along.

Steve,

This is exactly the type of shot I'd love to capture. Which lens did you use for this shot with your 50D? Thanks for assisting a newbie!

I used a Canon 70-200 f/2.8L paired with a Kenko 1.4x TC which yielded the 280 f/4 that this shot was taken at. Happy to help.
