Default HS Baseball

Shot a couple innings of HS Baseball yesterday. I thought this was my best. Hanging there, makes it loook so easy to hit. C&C welcomed. Is the outfielder distracting?

Great focus work there! The only thing I find distracting is the position of the outfielder. I find my eye goes right to the ball and then to the outfielder. I wonder if cloning him out would improve the shot?

Nice shot - impeccable timing! Love how the ball just appears to be standing still. If only the center fielder were to the left in the shot that way the focus is on the ball and the pitcher. TFS

Cheers!

Maybe have more of the foreground (ump and batter) in the image and less of the background? That would isolate your subject(s) better, IMO.

The first thing that caught my attention was the outfielder. And then the ball. I really like your timing here for freezing the ball but the position of the outfielder is just distracting. Maybe cropping the sky blue background and cloning out the outfielder is a good idea so as to bring focus more into the ball. Just my two cents.

Cheers!

Here is an example of what I was talking about earlier.

Thanks for all the feedback. Good idea with including more ump / batter. I think I had center point focus set . Next time use a higher focus point.

Yes it is a great photo, impeccable timing. Good freezing of the ball, no blur. Very sharp and good lighting. It shouldn't be too bad to clone stamp the outfielder. Remove him and his shin in front of the ball.
