So my son had his final tournament of the season (he took 3rd!). Anyway, took a bunch of shots. Here's one...

Ugh! That darn watermark is HUGE! I'm using Moligrfy in LR but it seems to do that on export to Photobucket but nothing else. Sorry about that. I hate HUGE watermarks like that.

Excellent shot! Love the action and entanglement. The 50mm gave you a nice background too.

I use Lightrooom but not Mogrify so this may not be your issue, but I will mention it just in case. When I export a small web sized version from Lightroom (ie. 72 dpi, 700x480), I get giant watermarks. When I export to a giant full resolution image (ie. 300dpi 3000x2000), I get tiny, tiny, eye squinty watermarks. As much as I love Lightroom, I gave up on it's watermarking and resorted to adding it in Photoshop. I am hoping it's better in Lightroom v3.

Well I'm using Mogrify in LR.

The strange thing is I'm not exporting it as a small web-sized photo. I do change the size enough so I don't post a HUGE pic here but that's it.

That Mogrify issue is odd because I thought it gave you more control. I was thinking of getting it myself but have put it off in hopes that Lightroom3's watermarking tool is better. I'm not holding my breath though :-)

Anyway, nice shot. I'm trying to get into sports photography myself and am learning a LOT lurking around in these forums.

You do have a LOT of control, just seems like there's a bit of a bug there. Not sure exactly why LR wouldn't have a decent watermarking tool built-in. Seems like one of the most basic things they would put in the app. But what do I know?

Thanks. I've seen a great progression with my shots throughout the season. I have a lot of great shots from this tournament. I'm quite proud of what I got. Now I just need to work on my pp skillz and I'm all set.

I like how the two players stand out from the background. Nice DOF there. It is also worthy to note that the head of your son's opponent is not captured in the frame, making this shot more interesting.

Cheers!
