Default Borrowed a D90 for this wrestling match...

So I borrowed a friend's D90 and used it to shoot my son's match (and others) yesterday. Here's my son and one of my favorites from his 2nd match yesterday.

D90
f2.8
ISO 1600
1/250

I did NOT run Noise Ninja on this one. Wanted to see if you all like the slight noise which looks a bit like grain. I ran it on other photos and it eats this right up with little to no image quality loss.

I'm on a laptop now, and the monitor on it isn't the best.

But from what I can tell, most if not all of the noise is in the background. Since the subjects seem pretty much noise-free, and since the noise in the background isn't too pronounced, the noise doesn't bother me in the least.

Nice photo.

Thanks. Yes, the noise is almost all in the bg which is why I didn't mess with it.

Good shot. I don't think the noise is that bad. It couldn't hurt to run it through Ninja Noise or something though, as long as it doesn't take away from the sharpness. My only critique is the amount of white space at the bottom. Maybe crop out a few inches. That is unless you are trying to keep it within certain dimensions.

Great shot, may I ask 1)how close were you 2)what type of lens were you using 3)what focal lenght di you shoot? I'm considering the D90 for some of my daughters indoor winter guard competitions. Thanks

Was shooting with the 50mm f1.8. I was laying down on the side of the mat where he was wrestling. For this shot, I was about 30-40' away and I cropped.

The D90 is a great high-ISO camera.
