just practicing using wide angle distortion for action shots. let me know how im doing. its there though it may seem like its not.

Technically it is good.
Esthetically the skier appears too centred to and is leaving the picture and I also feel a lot of the bottom of the pic is "dead space". Is it possible to shoot from a more front, to the skier, position so you can get the skier and snow plume coming into the picture..

I get the wide angle feeling, but I have no idea what lens you used.
I don't mind the skier being centered, nor that they are about to leave the scene. My biggest issue is with the shadow, it's a big distractor. I agree that a more "frontal" vantage point would probably have been better. It would have helped put the flying snow closer to the subject and allowed for tighter framing.
