I have an A900 and A700. I have had horrible luck with the A700, for some reason the AF function stops working, and when using spot metering, I notice it doesn't respond very well. When I was looking for a FF, I was having a hard time choosing between the A850 and A900, I decides that the A900 was a better fit for my shooting needs, but I think now that my A700 is on its very last legs, I will probably get the A850 as a backup camera to the A900.

I loved my A700, however with all it's recent issues, and only owning if for just over a year, I have to say that in the end I'm very disappointed in the quality. And to send it off to repair would cost just under $500.00, when as many of you know you can buy a brand new of for about $800.00. With all that said, I still got some amazing shots from the A700.

Thumbs up My point of view on my selections

I bought the 4-year "anti-drop" policy when I bought the A700 and that warranty purchase has been a boon, because I am suffering the "thumbwheel" fault for the second time, in as many years. I also noticed the wide variation in CWA and spot metering ... giving me a spot of trouble, so the camera is going back for repair in a couple weeks.

I believe i am cool until Sept. 2011, so I am sticking like glue to my A700/A850 combo.

I currently shoot with an A300, and I am new to the DSLRs-and photography really. I chose Sony since most of my previous point and shoots were Sony, as well as my computer, TV and other components. I have had fantastic luck with Sony products, and for an entry level camera, I have been impressed.

I got my camera in May of 2009, and I am well over 14k shots...Although, I attend local auto racing events, where numerous pictures were taken. I am learning to cut down on my shots though, and make them count.

Anyhow, I thought I would toss my hat in, even though the poll is closed.

Happy Shooting!
