Save your money for the new body and buy a better glass. Nikon / Canon / Sony / etc... doesn't matter if you use a bad lens. You will get a tamron 17-50 2.8 for a pretty cheap price, alternativly a sigma 24-70 2.8. This will do a LOT more than changing your body.

Nikon's f mount just celebrated its 50th year. you can use any lens nikon has made in the last 50 years with all current nikons other than some pre AI lenses which was like 40 years ago.

Default Nikon D90 is the one

The Nikon D90 is a fantastic camera. If you are looking to get a Digital SLR this is the one to get. I got mine for only $899

I'd go with Zappo! Buy a better glass! I'm using D90 with 18-200 for almost a year now, and now I'm thinking to upgrade my lenses' range into a better one (like 70-200 F/2.8 hopefully)
your body doesn't really matter, except if you have issues with ISO performance and need more customisable settings...
Cheers mate

THere's nothing wrong with the Sony body, the 18-70 kit lens is soft. get a better lens such as one of the Zeiss lenses for Sony or a Minolta lens which you can get very reasonably priced. We are not all millionaires able to spend money like water on new gear all the time!
