Question Alpha Lens Cap Clip

Sorry for this ridiculous question.
I've just bought an a200 and there is this little black plastic thing that I swear is the shoulder strap attachment to clip the lens cap too while your shooting. Thing is, how does the lens cap fit on?

And this might be a ridiculous answer.... Could it be the eyepiece cover that you are thinking is a lens cap clip? I'm not aware of a lens cap clip coming with the camera. The eyepiece cover explanation is on page 27 of my a200 manual. It shows the eyepiece cover, how to properly remove/attach the rubber eyecup, (which must be removed to use the eyepiece cover.)

Lightbulb Just give me that old hot shoe ...

It could very well be the "hot shoe" cover holder on the strap. You pull the cover off the "hot shoe" and slip it on there.

I've just bought the sony a 200 also and this little black clip you talk about is to cover the eye piece when you take self portraits....You have to slide the rubber piece up off the eye piece then the little clip will slot down over the eye piece...It had me wondering also....Apparently it stops the light getting into the eye piece when you do self portraits...How this helps
