I bought my first DSLR camera last September and opted for the Sony A 200 and I love it! I bought it with just he basic Sony 18-70mm lens from Digi Direct and paid just AU$649.00. Excellent service!
I later bought a pre-loved Minolta 75-300mm zoom lens on ebay for AU$150 to get those bird shots I seek! I have been very happy with this set-up whilst I grasp all there is to learn with DSLR's!! I will probably upgrade the lenses down the track... when I have the available $'s!!!! |

The SONY A200 is the sure-fire entry in the world of the DSLR ... but you should keep you eye on the new cameras coming down the pipe. If you enjoyed the A200 ... the A700 or the higher end are going to seriously and positively surprise you when you get to them.
Take a moment and drive through the SONY DSLR Fourm (<- click here) over on the Digital Camera Resource Page. (DCRP). You should be able to find all sorts of helpoful discussions for the SONY DSLR you have and even future plans. Please do not be intimidated to join in on the discussion and ask any question you may have on your camera or other SONY DSLRs. The group may not have ALL the answers, but they will sure give it a try. |

New to forum. Kind of got the bug with a KM Maxxum 5, then an a100, an a700 and this month the a900. Sold the KM but use all the others. Lenses CZ 16-80, CZ 24-70, Sony 70-200 G, Sony 70-400 G. All great cameras and each has it's place.

Hi, glad to see so many Sony users. I have two A350 with th 18 - 70 lens. My Minolta 100 - 300 just packed up on me so I'm looking for a good budget zoom Idealy for the running/cycling photos I try to get. Couldn't be happier with the camera's so easy to use and fantastic photos.......with the right lenses.

Also, the new DT 50mm f/1.8 lens is a cost-effective, low light prime, if your not using flash too much. Just a thought ... |

Okay, they are now out there.
Those people who were disappointed with the intro-DSLR regress in the α300 series, last May, can finally revel in the new α500/α550 APS-C DSLR cameras. These two LiveView equipped DSLRs will offer an upgrade path that will be an excellent choice. Happily, the Full Frame price has come a little closer to the masses, as the α850 has been released. This "A900 Jr" camera offers almost all the features of the α900, but slows down the frame per second by 2 (3 fps) and reduces the α900s 100% Veiwfinder to 98%.
