new camera looking at sony

I have a sony now...cybershot DSC-H9 I love the camera.... I go out on the weekends and take action shots of some of the local bands here...I can take easily anywhere from 800-1000 a night.... love the shots I get from it.... I had it now over a year maybe two... and looking for another camera to give this one a rest.... and I know I still haven't figured all the stuff my sony can do.... I'm looking for another camera and was not sure if i wanted to stick with sony... but I just love the pics I get from my sony camera....so very tempted to stay with sony... any suggestions on what camera is a step or two up from what i have now...that will still take action shot with stage lighting easily?? My price range is on the low end... maybe between 300-500
