I just wanted to poke my head in here and say how much I have enjoyed this thread. It has helped make the choice to buy the Tamron 18-250 mm lens to replace my Sony kit lens (18-70). I am enjoying the versatility of the Tamron lens very much! Its a very handy 'walkabout' lens. Thank you to Don Schap for all of your very good information!

'Fairweather',

I am sincerely glad that you were able to harvest useful information from this thread. It was the true intent and I can only hope others take the time to read and appreciate the insight it can provide. I know upgrading the kit lens is the first order of business BEFORE any other, with the possible exception of a bigger Compact Flash Memory Card (8 GB minimum).

May I also suggest you read through some of the offerings on the DCRP (Digital Camera Resource Page) SONY DSLR Forum <- click on this link

The "stickies" are a great place to start and there are over three solid years of history for the SONY DSLR line inside. Remember, if you have a question, POST IT ... so everyone can benefit.

two thumbs up.gif
