new DSLR user

hi

finally purchased a Sony A200 with standard kit lense.

I will no doubt look to a new lense in the future and it occured to me that I know nothing about them !

I wondered if there are articles explaining the lenses ie type , brand quality and such?

For tech specs on lenses I suggest going to the manufacturers website. I know that sony has online manuals on their site. I would look at Sony, Tamron, and Sigma...they seem to be the most used. You can also find some good deals on old Minolta AF lenses which are compatible with the Alpha series. Ebay and Amazon usually have a good selection.

Two good things to keep in mind...buyer beware and you get what you pay for!
