Default A65 Shutter priority below 1/160th?

Just bought a sony A65. Coming from a cannon xsi where you could just change the shutter speed to what you want. I select shutter prioritey and it wont let me go below 1/160th of a second? have to go to sports then it allows it to go that quick. Thinking of trying a cannon 60D to see how the compare.

Found out it was the flash that was up. It wont synch with anything faster than 1/160th. Closed the flash and it goes to 1/4000th. Since I have returned it and got a cannon 60D with the 18-135mm kit lens and it only took about 5-10 pics then the lens would not auto focus!!! it felt cheap. I may have made a mistake returning the sony.

Did you accidentally move the AF/MF switch on the lens to MF?

All dSLRs, btw, have a max. sync speed with the flash.

No it was in AF. It focused ok manually. I tried a sigma lens from my xsi and it works ok so the 18-135 lens must have a problem right out of the box, never made it outside.
