Talking what about (Sony HX 100 V) camera ???

Hi
I want to buy another camera instead of (Canon PowerShot A 710 IS) so i thought (Sony HX 100 V) would be good .

I'm a beginner just started to know how to use the manual mode and still learning .

the size of the camera doesn't matter to me in fact I like (kind a) big cameras.

i really don't have that much information about lenses so I'd like something good (I'm going to learn about that in the future).

the maximum price is around $400 .

I'd also like a resolution more than 12 MP

any ideas, please help

PS: if you also think that I should keep on using (Canon PowerShot A 710 IS) please tell me.
thanks

Go out and find a Canon S95 or Canon G12. You'll thank me later.

I bought a HX100V 2 months ago and I'm also a beginner, so I wanted something that wont be difficult between full manual and full auto if I get stuck, the best way for me to learn so much until now was to read allot of tips from photographers, take a lot of different photographs (all in full manual from the start) and just play around with lighting and composition. The Sony HX100V is all that I really need for now, I an planning to upgrade to Canon D600 next year, but will keep my Sony as a secondary camera. It's just like using a dSLR, I love the focus ring. So I do not think you will go wrong with the Sony.

Default So, which one is the winner?

As a beginner, I am also looking at these options. I primarily want to use one for personal use, during vacations. I have gone through the reviews of the Sony HX100V and the Canon PowerShot but I'm still confused. What's your opinion?

I just purchased this exact camera, the Sony Power shot DSC HX100V and my main problem with it is figuring out how to use Macro. Called Sony twice and they have given me detailed instructions and I get one out of 6 that looks decent. I just took some fantastic photos at a Preserve in the distance that came out fantastic of a goose and love the Pano.
