Default Keep Sony or go Canon?

I have owned the Sony a100 pretty much since it came out and have been content with it till now. I used to shoot Minolta 35mm which is why I chose Sony in the first place, to be able to keep my equipement and change to a digital body.

I am now looking at changing cameras because well mine is getting old. But I am torn between staying with Sony or going to the dark side and getting a Canon. I rented the Canon 7D recently and really enjoyed using it.

Anyone have any suggestions to offer? Anything in the Sony line come close to the 7D?

Go Canon. The platform is stronger, and the lenses from the third parties are completive.
But I am bias, I have had Canons since the mid 1970's

Do you have a large investment in lenses?
Does Sony have the lenses, and at a reasonable cost to meet your needs?
If the answer is yes then consider upgrading (Sony SLT?) if your existing camera doesn't meet your shooting needs. (I sometimes shoot with a Canon 350D (Rebel XT)).

If the answer is no then you may want to consider changing systems.

What lenses have you got? What is your budget, do you want to go full-frame?
When going full frame I'd sure do it for the Canon 5D, but APS-C sony is just as good as Canon imo.
