Default AE lock on Sony A200

Hello All,

I've been studying the method to use AE lock on my Sony A200. I think using the toggle is best suited to me so that I can switch it on when I need to use it. However, I'm still not sure how to do it. Do I focus on the area I would like to use, press the AE button, then half press the shutter, refocus and shoot or half press the shutter then the AE button?

Thank you as always,

Best wishes
Graeme

AE toggle provides and on/off effect. press the ael button once and exposure is locked, it will remained locked, so no need to hold the button while recomposing the shot. press the button a second time to turn off this function.

yes focus on an object, press the ae lock button, this will lock the exposure, then you can recompose the shot and it take the image using the previosly locked exposure... Be sure to push the ae lock button when done, or you run the risk of shotting the next image with the same exposure, which could could issues, especially if the lighting is totally different.
