Help with Sony 18-70 mm lense

Hi guys,

I would be grateful for some advice please.

I have a Sony Alpha 350 and the lense above seems to have a problem with focusing. It's making very loud noise when I put it on. I think it's the auto focus problems. The camera still works fine. I do have another lense of 50-200 mm which worked fine.

I would like to know if it's worth repairing or getting another lense and if so where could I get a cheapish one. I've found a used one on Amazon for £60. I can only afford around that margin.

Is it a SAM lens? Shouldn't be afaik, but I know that my SAM lens is ridiculously loud when focusing.

Hi Biomech,

It's not the loudness. it's like Grating sound, felt like it's struggling to focus. It works on manual focus though.

Take it back to your supplier, ask them to replace it, it should still be under warranty
