Default Sony TX9

Is this camera officially released yet? The reason I ask is becuase I went on my home computer and looked it up on Sony Style website and it says "Accepting Pre-orders
Available on or about 09/10/2010. We will email you when product ships."

The next day I went to work and looked it up and it said "Add to Cart". I added it to my cart and purchased the camera for my trip to Europe in 2 weeks. Two days later it arrives. I went to 10 different computers at work the same hour that I ordered it and they all said "Accepting Pre-orders
Available on or about 09/10/2010. We will email you when product ships."

Still cannot reproduce "Add to Cart", even on the computer I originally ordered from.

Is this normal that a manufacturer would let some people buy the camera before it is released?

Companies will sell you stuff before they are released. It's called pre-ordering, as you have noted. They may have a limit of how many pre-orders they can accept, so that they do not run out on release day. This may be why you cannot pre-order it any more.

So have you actually got the camera? If so something probably slipped through the system and they sent one out to you. Feel lucky that you've got one and don't ask too many questions as only reviewers will tend to get them before official release.

Yes, I actually have the camera. I just find it weird because when I was able to add it to my cart, I went to another computer right next to me and there wasnt a choice to add it to my cart or even pre-order. It just said "Not Available Yet".

I will take a few pics of it tonight
