Hi All,
I had a great time down in Tasmania a fortnight ago, including a trip down to Port Arthur, a notorious Australian jail in the 1800's. Amazing place, a bit spooky, and lots of photo opportunities. As you may be able to see from the photo... it was VERY wet, which did help the atmosphere. I think this was my favourite shot from the day, btu I'm still not sure if I like it better in colour or black and white? More shots from the trip in my flickr Thanks for looking! ![]()

I like the color one too, but it almost seems like B/W with selective coloring...ie, the grass. Very cool photo

I agree with Joyce, I like the first one. My eyes always end up with the rolling clouds.

The colour one is a little more natural and inviting. On the other hand, the cropped B&W version is almost menacing looking. My vote is for the B&W. I think it'd be even more dramatic though if you could get the detail back in the sky/clouds.
added: looking at the B&W again it reminds of a Hitchcock movie or the original Night of the Living Dead.

Wow, a Hitchcock comparison is a compliment!
![]() Thanks for your feedback guys, I think colour might be the way to go! It does actually look a bit selectively coloured... but that was just the crazy weather doing its work! |

I like the first one especially the sky it really helps set the whole suspense scene. Angela

Just to be different I like the cropped b&w one.
as beautiful as Port Arthur is when you are there and think about the poor souls that were transported there. It becomes a bit spooky. Great shot by the way. |
