Default Canada Day Fireworks in the Maritimes

After seeing the post on the front page of DPS with suggestions on how to shoot fireworks I was anxious to give it a try. Yay for Canada Day.

This shoot was a lot of firsts for me. First time ...
  1. shooting at night
  2. shooting with a tripod
  3. shooting long exposures
Here are some of my favorites. It was a great learning experience me. EXIF the same for all shots. Only post production was cropping and resizing.

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Exposure: 6
Aperture: f/10.0
Focal Length: 25 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

Lots more photos in the set if you want to see more. Happy Canada Day everyone. (And happy 4th of July soon US friends.)

Default very nice

great shots; I've never done fireworks so appreciate the list of 'firsts". Great stuff.

Yay! Heheh. I took my first fireworks shots too, it was interesting and I learned a few good things, like next time to get a bit closer or use a zoom lens LOL

Galiven, these are awesome shots..

i like the 2nd one the best, the 6 sec exposure tracing the whole path of the fireworks, ending with the fountain of lights beautifully...

thanks for sharing this.
