love the "thing" - the lighting and the inclusion of the street lamp is great.

Once again, thanks for the positive comments!

This week's theme is just wandering the streets at night, seeing what I can get handheld, either landmarks or just anything that catches my eye.

This is my favourite, just because of the light -
Тверская
It's advertising currency exchange rates, which is very common on the main streets - multi-currency cash is the norm here, and currency kiosks are everywhere, some more legitimate than others

...and this came out pretty well to, considering that as well as being dark and handheld, it was snowing
Река Москва
That's the Kremlin on the right, and the Cathedral of Christ Saviour on the horizon.

As before, more on flickr and wordpress, links below...

Last few days in the city now. Fingers crossed the weather holds... it's not been great during daylight hours lately so more night shots this time:

First, a shot a bit closer on the Cathedral seen in the distance on the previous post:
Храм Христа Спасителя

...and a statue of Peter the Great:
(about which opinion seems divided, as to whether it is a proud tribute in a bold modern style - or an ill-proportioned eyesore)
Statue of Peter the Great

...and finally a somewhat plainer unadorned bridge:
Bridge
(I was pleased with the depth of field in this one )

Thank you for sharing these wonderful shots, and locations. Now I have to put Moscow on my list over cities to visit in the near future.
