Default My First Silhouette

Tiffany Silhouette

I'm still a little new to studio photography and this touch up is from my first attempt at silhouette. I brightened the eyes and lips a bit and illuminated the skin a bit too.

What do you think?

I like the way she glows out of the darkness of the background. I really like it.

I hate to tell you but that's not a silhouette. It's a low key portrait and it's nicely done.

I might put her arm elsewhare as it looks abnormally long. The signature is rather distracting. The lighting is very nice.

Hmm. Sorry. I'm a relatively new portrait photographer. I was looking at other silhouettes after I posted this and I know your right. Besides that thanks for the critique. I think the signature is a little big too. I'm gonna resize and lower opacity so that it's less distracting. As for her arm I guess that's just how I cropped it. I thought it looked best cut like this.

I like the lighting; it's very soft..how did you do it? The eye is a little overdone.

Well the light that I was using was too powerful so at my wifes suggestion I grabbed my sons desk light, switched the bulb to a soft white and had my wife standing with the light shining almost directly in her face. As for the eye, I did that on purpose. I always overdo it on the eyes as I personally think they are some peoples best features.
