Default Big Ben, London.

Hi everybody,
I'm new to this forum. I'm 15 years old, and am new to Photography. I got a camera for christmas (Canon SX20is).
I went to London with my parents recently, and photographed Big Ben. As Big Ben is so commonly photographed, I tried to take a photo that was slightly different.
I edited the photo on Photoshop by adding a border and enhancing the colours.
I'd really like to know what other people think of it. Any suggestions for photographing buildings like Big Ben on a dark rainy day? Do you like the way I have edited it?
Thanks,
Amy

To me, the lamp is competing (and winning) over Big Ben, especially since that thick, dark branch is pointing right to it.
I feel like this shot would be absolutely amazing had you focused on the lamp on purpose, and unfocused the background. That would make this much more original, whilst still including Big Ben in a subtle way.

I think you have done well, while I agree with what Japaslavian is saying, this is still a striking image and considering you are just starting out I think we will see some great shots from you in the future.

Enjoy your new camera!

Cheers,

Gerard
