Default Sunset HDR

Hello all, been reading quite a while and now time for my first post.

I've recently taken up HDR and have a SERIOUS problem with over-processing...and have been trying to cut back, but it's like an addiction:-) In regards to this photo I feel compelled to saturate the reds in the sky, but then the sunset starts looking "fake"...

Since I can only post one photo I'll show you my "holding back" version and ask if you think it needs any more color in the sky, or is it pleasing without any saturation? Plus, any other critique is welcomed.

Thanks!
Shea

Hi Darwin, I really like this image as it is. Most of the HDR I have seen is overdone and over saturated. This image is dramatic and really jumped out at me as soon as l looked at your post.

I know what you mean about addiction to processing, even though I have not gotten into HDR yet I have been guilty of going over the top with various effects, someone should start a Photoshoppers anonymous group!

What I find helpful is to shut down, come back the next day and have another look, I usually then realise I have gone to far.

Cheers,

Gerard
