Default Christmas PhotoShop

Not sure if there was an easier/ better way to do this. But took each individual pic outside next to the barn as I do not have a back drop and am a novice so natural light is easier for me. The person in the picture held a white poster board. Then I cropped/cleaned up in iphoto. Then I masked the santa hats in Elements and converted to BW. Then I put the images in Pages (the mac version of word crossed with publisher) resized and tilted to fit onto the whiteboard.

The only disappointing thing was that it costs a small fortune to do folded cards for Christmas so the end product was never fully realized.

I think you did a great job! Shame you didn't end up doing the cards... they would have looked fantastic!

Still... it's a good keepsake for your family!

What a great idea! I've make a note in my diary to steal it next year

It's a pity folded cards are so expensive, but people might still like a 5x7

Do the 4 x 8 cards and write in your Xmas sentiment on the bottom. Or you can go to like HP offers free templates for cards like that. I bought a box of 4 x 8 withthe envelops for about 25 bucks. I beleive there was 100 cards in it. More expensive than the store bought ones, but family and friends will love it that much more because its personal.

Great idea by the way

I got the idea from a website where others were posting their Christmas card photos. I added my own touch by making in black and white with the highlight of red santa hats. The one that was my inspiration had standard studio backdrop and was in color.

Would have loved to get some large frames to put the white board in so it looks like we are holding framed pictures.

Awesome picture! I love the creative combination of picture-in-picture as well as the b&w with the red hat highlights! Definitely a great idea!

As far as the photoshopping goes, I noticed that your pictures on the board are aligned 100%. This might be intentional on you part (just like some pictures you get from relatives that aren't cut out properly) but it's the only thing post-processing wise that I notice.

Gives me some great ideas though, thanks for posting that!
