Default Baby's Feet- what else do I do?

While babysitting my nephew I decided to try and take some pictures of his feet (which is very hard while awake - constantly moving.) This picture was the best of the bunch which is far from what I had hoped to capture. After converting it to B & W and adding a vignette was hoping to have this printed and framed to give my niece as a gift. Not sure what to do to make it any better or if its good enough to have printed.

Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks from a not yet amauter photographer.

I think the blanket and fluff on it is a bit distracting. What would it look like blacked out?

I kind of like the blanket in there... I agree the fluff is slightly distracting, but I think the blanket gives the photo character, and it looks great as it is.

Good job.

I like the lighting and "posing" of the feet.

I took some newborn shots last week and baby was shedding skin like there was no tomorrow - instead of fluff, I got whole-of-body dandruff on my black sheet I upped the black point to darken the backgrounds, then did a tedious flake-by-flake repair job.

Thanks for sharing, I'm sure your niece will be thrilled.

Thanks for your thoughts! I don't know why I didn't think about those things before. I like the texture the blanket gave the background so I added a black transparent layer to try and cover the fluff more after I cloned some of the fluff out. I then used gaussian blur on the background. This is what I came up with. I like this one alot better.

Do you think that I blurred it to much?

Thanks for your comments.
