Default Car Show Gem

I have been working on this one for a while, my wife and I see this car at many of the car shows we attend. It is always hard to get a nice shot without any distracting backgrounds, so I decided to erase the background and try to come up with something that would make it really pop. I am not done yet but wanted to know if I am on the right track or if I should change anything. The main thing I was trying to accomplish was to make it feel 3 dimensional (that is why I allowed the car to go outside the oval) and to bring out the skin tones in the paint ( that is why I used the color for the outside). I also thought the outside did not work using just a solid color so I choose two and smeared them together. Please let me know what you think. Any other critique is find, I know the front tire still needs work and the windshield wiper on the left (it had a big paper attached to it with a nomber on it). The photo looks better large.

I like the shot of the car, but not feeling the post processing.

Could you tell what part you don't like is it the black background, the border or the border color. Maybe its the whole composition, please let me know and also let me know what you would do. Thank you for your input hope to hear back from you.

The oval mostly. Im not really a fan of taking out the background and just leaving it black, but the oval thing going on just looks weird. Like a weird greeting card overlay youd get on a site.

Not really a fan of the oval either. Instead of making the car pop out it sort of looks like it's in a hole. The car itself looks great but the black looks like an obvious attempt to cut out a background. Have you tried it on a colored background without the black oval? Or maybe a rectangle instead of an oval to get more of the car outside of it? Or maybe incorporating some of the ideas in the paint job (stars, lightning, etc.) into the background? Just some ideas.

This is one of those compositions that people will love, or not love. For me, I think it's a smidge busy with a little too much going on. As opposed to my friend TWOR, I do not mind a blacked out background. The shot of the car is well done, but unfortunately, it's what you get at a typical car show / cruise night...hoods and trunks open...bah. A '39 or '40 Willys..nice! On a positive note, I give you kudos for trying something different

Nice shot of the car, but the oval doesn't work for me either. I blame it on 4 years studying engineering. I don't do curves well

Nice PP skills though
