Default What would you do to fix this pic?

What could I have done differently while shooting this picture?

Obviously, it was too bright, it was a very clear day at noon. This was the only time that the family was free and they had their hearts set on this fence and tree.

I'm just looking for some advice on how to edit (save) this picture and about 100 more like it in LR.

Filter the light through a reflector...you will need a helper to hold it, or a stand of some sort, add a little fill flash if not bright enough and this problem is solved. Of course, moving into the shade if available is always good

ummm well it doesnt seem THAT bright :P, ya the shirts are a little bright but im guessing you could play with the highlights on the curve and bring them down a little, also use some recovery, other than that it would be no fun doing on 100 pictures, probably something with the adjustment brush to darken the shirts a little but thats about all i can think of, then again no pro here :P and no expert with lightroom either, i just started using lightroom when i saw the free beta for lightroom 3

heres my attempt at it....may have done a little too much on his chest but anyways...I messed with the recovery, exposure, and highlights, then used the adjustment brush to try to darken the highlights some, ill take down this pic if youd like however....also since i have no idea what im doing with flickr (just made an account, well im just starting to use it today i should say) i used to use picasa but lightroom can export directly to flickr....so its on flickr as well but i made it so only i could see it....hopefully it will still show up here

very nice recovery Pen...
Fishsarahg17 when you find the LR adjustments that you like you can apply them across all the pictures at once so you won't have to do it 100 times....

Thank you for the edit, Pen. I've never used the brush tool in LR but I have Scott Kelby's book so I am studying right now!

i woudl say the shot needs a bit wider composition - I was like "what fence", as it is very subtle. Of course that may be what you/they like.
