Default Fantasy shot attempt.

Never done one before. I knew the look I wanted, but didn't know how to go about getting it.

Here is my first attempt. Looking for critique on the over all look, and feel of the image. I've looked at it so much, I'm to the point of thinking it might suck.

I knid of like the ray of light, gives it that "Fantasy" feeling/look. What I find a bit off is all the other light around her. It just feels artificial.

From what I can see, you're trying to give the impression of the model bathed in moonlight. The surrounding areas are dark enough to make the main focul area look artificailly enhanced rather than just lit by moonlight.

Very nice work for sure.

I think the concept and composition work well. I think I'd like to see this shot conventionally though.

Is that the moon or a spotlight? The moon idea can work but I think it needs to spread the light a bit wider - at the moment, her face is so much brighter it looks stuck on.

Wow, I wish my first attempts looked like THAT!! I agree about the light being like a spotlight tho, Maybe if it was lighting more than just her face.........

Here are the images I used to make the shot.

I took the shot of the lake in Cincinnati back in August.

DSC_7787

I took the shot of the moon from my back yard in September.

MOON

I shot Erica on her bedroom floor in November. Loved shooting there, the entire 3rd floor was the master bedroom. Unobstructed ocean views from the back, and ICW views from the front.

thats an impressive composite for a first try. The moon beam needs work, but Im not sure what exactly.... and also the moon looks very pasted in - may I suggest changing the source file for the moon to something which shows more moon detail rather than just a disc of light?
