Default making it more interesting

I have this picture, where kind of I like the pattern of the wheels and he texture of the rust. Since a lot of the details got lost on the org. picture, I ended up doing quite a lot of postwork on it, but I'm still not really satisfied. Did I take it too far with postwork, should it be black\white. What do you think?

I think you did a good job with the crop, getting rid of the distracting background. I think the PP looks pretty good. I like the fact that the eye is now immediately drawn to first rows of teeth. The centre portions of the wheel in the foreground may be a tad too dark. It may look good in B&W, but I like the purplish colour of the old corroded metal.

Just one question. What the heck is it?

Good question. I think the place was and old sawmill, or something like that. But it looks like it might be used in agriculture. Not sure.

heres an edit of it after a 60 second split toning job in lightroom. I think the warm highlights kind of captures the rust feel. you can spend more time with it if you like the effect

me likes

nice use of DoF to draw the eye to the first teeth. I think it could do with a bit more colour balance tweaking to get the reddish of the rust back.

What ever it is, I'm staying the hell away from it, rusty or not!! Looks lethal
