Default Giraffes

I was bored in the house the other night so I took this shot of some African wood carvings my wife has collected. I shot it in a darkened room and lit it with a handheld flashlight. I combined two shots in PS to even out the lighting a bit and hit it with some watercolor filter. I was trying to add some 2D, "painted" look without it looking completely flat. Does the result look interesting to you? Or should I quit messing around with my wife's stuff?

It has a slight oil painting look to it to my eyes. I find myself looking at the 3rd Giraffe from the left where the light hits the neck. Overall it held my gaze for a while so I think it is interesting but just a little too dark.

Yes, definitely looks like an oil painting. I think its pretty cool that you are being so experimental. It's always fun to find things around the house like that.

I think it would be nice to have a different perspective and maybe use the lighting from a different angle. I like the border and the color of the frame, however I think it would look better being a bit thinner.

Nice job though, and very creative. I like it.
