So I was playing with making images look aged this morning.. how is this one? does it look realistically old (at least for those who can't tell that it's not a very antique Nikon...).. Thanks!

Border looks good but these old pictures tend to be soft and fuzzy not tack sharp like this. Since the image is so sharp it gives it away that this was post processed to look old. Try adding some blur to the image to reduce the sharpness. See if you can find a nice texture you can overlay with scratches and coffee stains. Also having an appropriate subject will certainly help a lot. Seeing a DSLR in the images really going to give the picture away. Antique photos have been sitting around a lot this is where the discoloration and coffee stains come from.

Good points.. I was following a tutorial that started with a grainy image and completely forgot to add noise to mine.. the good thing is that I can add it to a flattened file after the fact
Re camera - it does give away the age to some, but not others - or not mothers, to be specific... my mom thought it was a photo of my husband's grandfather - while it's actually my husband 2 years ago in a Tokyo park..
