Default Trying out the Orton Effect

Hey guys,

This is the first time I tried to create an Orton Effect with one of my photos. I don't know if I succeeded - if I blurred it too much, etc. Did I?

Composition-wise, I know I made a boo-boo by clipping the right side of the bridge. Still, I liked the colors of the leaves so I played with this particular photo.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks.

The effect is quite present, and I can imagine some people not liking it. The most important thing is what you, being the photographer, think of it ;-)

I use the Orton effect quite a bit. Especially when there are a lot of colors and white involved. For me, I generally will only use it on select parts of an image. For this one the leaves are a bit too bright and the bridge is a hair in the dark side. If you could combine the two I think you'll see a big change that you might really like
