Hi! I'm looking for comments on this portrait, consisting of two frames taken a few minutes apart.
The idea is to have a close-up of the subject's face and then an environmental portrait next to it. I started making these series out of kid's portraits I've taken lately. Do you think it's effective? Another question is the close-up. I got this tendency to chop off chins and foreheads because I get in too close to maximize the eyes. Does the chopped off forehead bother you in this photo? Thank you!

Hi Oglebe,
I can't say I necessarily disagree with SRT, but I still love the 'environmental' portrait. I especially like the use of B&W here. And I would reinforce what SRT said about framing out the forehead and the chin at the same time. Maybe cropping a little of one or the other is acceptable, but I would avoid over-doing it. Good job! |
