Default Double portrait (diptych)

Hi! I'm looking for comments on this portrait, consisting of two frames taken a few minutes apart.
The idea is to have a close-up of the subject's face and then an environmental portrait next to it. I started making these series out of kid's portraits I've taken lately.
Do you think it's effective?

Another question is the close-up. I got this tendency to chop off chins and foreheads because I get in too close to maximize the eyes. Does the chopped off forehead bother you in this photo?

Thank you!

Anya

Hi there,
the close up photo looks good, the chopped forehead is ok, I think it's considered fine as long as u don't chop the forehead and the chin at the same time, this close up shot does look a little yellow tho. The portrait next to it looks like more of a snapshot than a portrait and I know u said u wanted it be environmental, but I think it would have a better impact if it were a little more formal when put together with the close up.

Hi Oglebe,

I can't say I necessarily disagree with SRT, but I still love the 'environmental' portrait. I especially like the use of B&W here.

And I would reinforce what SRT said about framing out the forehead and the chin at the same time. Maybe cropping a little of one or the other is acceptable, but I would avoid over-doing it.

Good job!

I like the first one, the B&W one a lot.

Very nicely taken. Good work
