Default Brooklyn Bridge

I was just playing with photoshop (kinda new in there) and I took one of my not too exciting shots of the Brooklyn Bridge and here is the result. First I turned it into black and white and then I added the flag from another shot. I kinda like this but I feel there is something more that could be done to make this picture even better. Any suggestions? I would appreciate that. Thanks.

I like your play with Photoshop. Good idea and very creative.

Since you are new to it, I'd like to give you a bit of advice that might help you:
you cropped the flag pretty good! After cropping you might want to soften the edges with a small brush, that smoothes the edges and lets it look more natural. Also take care that you crop enough. On my screen I see a bit of white halo on the side of the flagpost, maybe also soften that a bit. Last but not least, maybe try to straighten the image a tiny bit.

Photoshop has a great helper, the vertical and horizontal lines. You can drag those lines into your image by clicking into the white raster on top or the side of your image and holding the mouse button down. Then drag the lines where you need them, straighten the image (buildings are great for that) and afterwards you can delete the lines in the "view" menu. (I hope that's the name, as I use the german version of Photoshop. )

I think I would like to see the flag a little bit smaller. It's taking up half the photo and detracting from the bridge. Maybe downsizing the flag and "moving" it backwards into the photo towards the bridge slightly more might work better. I don't know how that would look because obviously there is water. I do like the selective colorization, though.
